The Standing Stone(s) series documents an ongoing fascination with the nature of barriers and how they can influence our impression of a place.
Stones are often used as barriers, marking territories and property, but they are also used as a means of communicating points of entry. So often these stones remind me of standing stones; monuments in the landscape.
This series of works is an attempt to recognise these markers of boundary or territory as sculptures, and to observe them three-dimensionally.
